Terms of Service
1. Agreement to these terms
By creating a ShalomTali account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use ShalomTali. These terms are entered into by you and ShalomTali ("ShalomTali," "we," "us").
2. What ShalomTali is
ShalomTali is a mobile app for practicing spoken Hebrew: gamified lessons paired with live, unscripted voice conversations with an AI tutor, Tali. It's a learning tool — not a certified language-instruction service, not a substitute for a human tutor or formal ulpan course, and not a source of professional translation or legal/medical Hebrew. Tali is an AI, and like any AI, it can occasionally get something wrong — a word, a conjugation, a cultural nuance. If something Tali says seems off, trust your own judgment (or a native speaker) over the app.
3. Accounts
- You need an account to use ShalomTali, created with an email/password or via Apple or Google sign-in.
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information (in particular, your declared Hebrew level and gender, which shape how the app teaches and addresses you).
- ShalomTali isn't intended for children under 13.
- One account per person — don't share accounts or resell access.
4. Subscriptions and billing
ShalomTali offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription ($19.99 per month, $44.99 per 3 months, or $99.99 per year — the yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial; the app always shows the current price before you buy). Premium is purchased through Apple's App Store in-app purchase and is billed by Apple to your Apple ID — Apple's terms govern the payment itself. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, which you can do any time in your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. 5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use ShalomTali for anything illegal, or to harass, abuse, or attempt to extract harmful content from Tali.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying AI models, prompts, or curriculum content for reuse elsewhere.
- Interfere with the app's operation (attempting to overload our voice infrastructure, automate lesson completion to farm rewards, etc.).
- Misrepresent your identity or share your account with others.
6. Your content
What you say to Tali during a voice conversation is yours. We process it (per our Privacy Policy) to run the conversation and give you a progress-tracked transcript — we don't publish it, and we don't use it to train third-party models beyond what our AI providers do to generate the real-time response itself.
7. Intellectual property
The ShalomTali app, its curriculum, Tali's character and voice, and all associated branding are owned by us or our licensors. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app — it doesn't transfer ownership of any of that to you.
8. Disclaimers
ShalomTali is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that Tali's Hebrew will always be perfectly accurate — AI-generated speech and text can contain mistakes. We aren't liable for decisions you make based on something Tali said (for example, don't rely on Tali for time-sensitive legal, medical, or official-form Hebrew).
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShalomTali and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
10. Termination
You can stop using ShalomTali and delete your account at any time (see our Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.
11. Your local rights
Where local consumer-protection law grants you rights these terms can't override, those rights still apply.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. We'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, make a reasonable effort to notify you in-app.
